  • Co-founded and built the Design Activation (dAct) team from the ground up, a new function within H-E-B’s Digital organization focused on scaling design impact to non-design teams with limited access to design support. 

  • Defined the dAct team’s structure, cadences, and best practices from scratch; establishing norms that enabled the team to embed design thinking, improve alignment/consistency, and operate with greater autonomy.

  • Led the creation of a department-wide Single Source of Truth (SSOT) for DesignOps, including a refined information architecture (IA), best practices guide, and five reusable templates; resulting in 50 updated pages, 35 new pages, 72 archived pages, and ~120 re-homed pages.

  • Expanded SSOT efforts to the entire Digital organization (2,000+ employees), serving as subject-matter expert (SME) to define IA, foundational resources, contribution workflows, and a full implementation roadmap for over 11,000 pages; improving cross-team visibility and operational clarity.

  • Delivered a a career development toolkit for ~100 designers across multiple teams and levels, including 8 informational pages, 4 guides, and 14 templates across multiple tools; used to support growth conversations, performance cycles, and mentorship.

  • Created and scaled a mentorship program across the design org and adjacent teams, improving career clarity and peer/leader development for 100+ participants.

  • Standardized design documentation across 13+ design teams, reducing search time and improving experience cohesion on end-to-end experiences.

  • Facilitated strategic workshops for 20+ design leaders (Managers to Directors), aligning on principles, goals, and vision; driving alignment and maturity across the department.

  • Established strategic direction and supervised the modernization of a Medicare supplement, and college savings investment (529) applications, improving user retention by an average of 12%.

  • Mentored and onboarded multiple design team members, giving them insight to our company’s and industry’s best practices as well as guiding them in their careers.

  • Created an investing account servicing experience and a patented digital form that allowed users to select a security before a transaction type, reducing the time to submit by an average of 29%.

  • Organized a design research effort to identify crucial opportunities for the seven types of Health products USAA offers, that impacts approximately 480,000 users.

  • Eliminated 36% of Design and IT re-work and injects by building and iterating on templates and working models for partner collaboration and project maintenance.

  • Managed design support for Health line-of-business design over a four month department reorganization, documented the intake and progress of work to assist design team and leadership in their orientation to the area.

  • Directed four communities and events with the purpose to increase cross-department learning, empathy and integration; improving attendance by 32%, increasing development-lead courses for designers by 24% and design-lead courses by 13%; reaching roughly 3,400 employees.
